THIS beautifully produced book is an intriguing novel set in late 19th Century Prague. Milena's father, a successful puppeteer, has been murdered, and her mother has disappeared.
A mysterious puppet master arrives in Prague, assisted by sinister identical twins, and takes a disturbing interest in Milena. Does he hold the clue to her parents' mysterious fates? Ancient Bohemian legends are entwined with an air of mounting horror as the Puppet Master's dastardly scheme is unravelled.
The plot is rather difficult to follow in places, but the characters are colourfully drawn and readers will soon be immersed in their world. (Age 9+)
