Randolph Colliery cokeworks
that was demolished to
widen the road. The picture
was taken in 1964.
  • LIGHTING THE WAY: A
lamp at Evenwood Station in
May 1963.
  • WORK PLANNED: Concrete blocks used to make the new ford at Mill Ford in 1966.
  • HEAVY INDUSTRY: Smoke rising from the cokeworks in 1972.
  • VILLAGE IMAGE: Jacob Wright’s Almshouses in 1975.
  • Evenwood Town’s clubhouse, which cost £20,000 to build, shortly before it opened in 1967.
  • The Mill Cottages in 1966.
