LAST week’s Memories in The Northern Echo produced a good response to the photos of the Coniscliffe area and quite a few interesting bottle stories – more next week.
One of the most unusual bottles came from Lisa Marie Griffiths who found at a dump near Aycliffe a JT Yeoman milk bottle.
It boasts that Mr Yeoman’s herd at Simpasture Farm – which is now beneath the Oak Leaf sports centre – was TB-free.
Lisa found this splendid Echo enamel sign at the same dig which we think is 1940s, perhaps a little earlier.
The milk bottle, though, must be a little later – telephone number 2354. Can anyone help us with either a date or information about the farm?
