A lovely snowy scene from almost exactly 55 years ago: January 15, 1960, showing Green Bridge with the castle in the background and some lovely old cars covered in snow. Can anyone tell us about the identity of the vehicle just behind the bridge - close up below:

A final picture: an oddity which was No 8 Waterloo, off the steep bank in Richmond, which was known locally as "the lighthouse":

It was a square tower with a living room on the first floor, two bedrooms above, a cellar below and what was said to be Richmond's only outwards opening front door. It was said to be more than 200 years old when this picture was taken on July 24, 1963 - shortly before its demolition.
