TREASURE IN HEAVEN

Are you saving up for heaven when

you leave this world behind

Or are you saving all your treasures

down here below?

I’ll tell you now my friends, you can’t

take it with you when you go.

When the grim reaper comes and calls your name

And you stand at the pearly gates.

And St Michael opens the Lamb’s book of life against your name

Will you lift your head up high or hang it down in shame?

Are you looking for that pot of gold at the rainbows end

Or are you looking for treasure in the deep blue sea below?

I am going to tell you now my friends

that you can’t take it with you when you go.

Why not look for the fountain of life

where living water flows

And walk the straight and narrow road,

it’s the only way to go

On your journey you will find the cup of

righteousness to help you on your way.

And you can gather grace and love

that we all need day by day

Goodness, kindness and mercy will fill

your cup and it will overflow

I tell you now my friends, it’s the only way to go.

THE SNOWDROP

Have you looked inside a snowdrop

And seen the beauty there?

Like a mini rose

Delicate beyond compare.

God’s exquisite handiwork,

So perfect and so neat

In every detail small

Intricate and totally complete.

They speak of God’s love and care

A sign that life goes on

For suddenly they’re everywhere

Maybe winter time has gone.

MY SCARY NIGHT

A star shivers

The night quivers

It’s pitch black all around

Boats sail

I hear a baby wail

and horses clop along the ground.

Silence suddenly comes

Not even a person hums

Suddenly a horse stumbles

And the sky sort of grumbles

then lightning strikes

Which nobody really likes.

I ran to shelter

So that was that

Everyone came in, even the cat.

That was a bad day

I hope tomorrow is okay.
