A HARD LUCK TALE

I loved the man in the hardware shop

I loved him for some ten years

It brought me fragments of happiness,

But it mainly brought me tears.

I purchased things I did not need,

Just to hear him speak

Torches, string and really strong glue

A hose, as mine had a leak.

I wooed him with my cleavage,

Whilst waiting in the queue

I even touched his arm once,

Thought I don’t think he even knew.

I finally gave up my fight

After I purchased my very last nail.

I had tried to buy the hardware man

But alas, he was never for sale.

PUPPY POEM

Soft as a pillow,

Light on his feet,

Little bounding puppy,

So loud as he greets.

Lovable and caring,

Elegant and funny,

Bouncy and playful,

Is my little puppy.

His pattering little feet,

Diamond eyes so bright,

Nose cute as a button,

My puppy is just right.

ABUNDANT LIFE

Let’s really live every day

Seeing beauty all around,

Let’s be children, have time to play

For there’s much treasure to be found.

For life does not consist of money

Or how much we possess.

But in trusting Jesus

Who will richly bless.

There’s beauty in a raindrop

As it sparkles ’pon a leaf

One of God’s amazing jewels

Strengthening belief.

Then God’s beauty is unfurled

As he decorates the world

With snow on every flower and tree

A gift for those with eyes to see.

And there are fields of luscious green

And roses so precious and so rare

Skies so lovely to be seen

And tiny snowdrops suddenly appear.

For Jesus came to give to us

Life to live with zeal and zest

To go out, enjoy His world

For He always gives the best.

GLOBAL WARMING

It is hard to think back to when I was new

I had grass of green and seas of blue.

I was bright and very happy but from here it is up to you.

You made greenhouse gasses and this is still what you do.

I weep many years and because of you

I will weep for many more thousands years.

It is now up to you, because sadly

there is not much more that I can do.

I just watch the choices you make

As you never give and instead take.

It is the coldness I am lacking

but which side are you backing?

Will there ever be an end?

And will I ever fully mend?
