WHITE is the new black – or is it the other way around? Whichever colour you prefer Ford has a special edition Fiesta and Ka for you.

The company’s new Black and White editions offer a black body with white detailing (Panther Black body, Frozen white roof and white mirrors) or a white body with black detailing (white bod, black roof and black mirror caps).

Both feature smart-looking 15-inch black alloy wheels with white styling inserts (16-inchers are optional).

Inside the seats are stitched with white thread, as is the leather steering wheel, floor mats, handbrake gaiter and handle. The steering wheel spokes are painted white, as is the gear lever surround and door grab handles.

Offered in three and five-door bodystyles, both Fiesta models are based on the Trend specification and include Ford’s Sync voice-activate connectivity system as standard.

The Ka Black and White Editions are available with Midnight Black or Crystal White body, and contrasting roof and mirror caps. An optional body colour rear roof spoiler is offered, and 16 inch 5-spoke Y-Design alloy wheels also feature white styling inserts.

A bold contrasting interior design for the Ka Black and White Editions is dominated by a unique seat trim in black with white detailing; seam stitching; and headrest-, seat bolster- and seat base-sides.

The leather steering wheel and handbrake also feature white stitching, as do the gear shift gaiter and unique, double-stitched floor mats. The gearshift knob, the steering wheel spokes, centre console, door grab handles and air-vent surrounds are presented in Pearl White.

John Mcleod, chief designer, Vehicle Personalisation, Ford of Europe, said: “Black and white is a timeless combination that evokes thoughts of chic 1960s style, and now inspires the design of products from consumer electronics to training shoes.

“White is a clean, pure, simplistic colour that contrasts perfectly with sophisticated black. We’ve used that simple combination to deliver distinctive Fiesta and Ka models with a charismatic twist.”

“The seat designs and bold interior detailing for the Black and White Editions means the visual impact runs right through the car. It’s stimulating and youthful and the white wheel inserts help ensure these stylish cars are instantly recognisable on the road.”

The 3-door Ka Black and White Editions are offered in Titanium specification that includes Electronic Automatic Temperature Control, and theatre-style interior lighting.

The Fiesta can be equipped with powertrains including the three-time International Engine of the Year 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol; 1.0-litre Ti-VCT; 1.25-litre and 1.4-litre Duratec petrols; 1.5 litre TDCi diesel; and 1.6-litre TDCi diesel delivering 3.6 l/100 km (78.5 mpg) fuel efficiency and 95 g/km CO2 emissions.

Its Ka cousins can be had with Ford’s 1.2-litre Duratec petrol engine, achieving 4.9 l/100 km (57.6 mpg) fuel efficiency and 115 g/km CO2 emissions.

The new Black and White Editions follow the introduction of the Fiesta Red and Black Editions, which offer fashion-inspired design combined with a 140 PS version of Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Ford has received more than 3,600 orders for Fiesta Red and Black Editions since launching the model in June 2014.
