What was your first car?

It was a light blue Honda Civic that cost me £175. I lovingly placed a turtle air freshener on the bonnet like some kind of Rolls Royce emblem. I eventually sold it to the corner shop owner for £150.

How many times did it take to pass your test?

I learned to drive in my dad's Jaguar XJS with the old man barking orders at me from the passenger seat. I passed on my second test. On the first one the test instructor told me at the end of the test that I had driven really well, but he's failing me. I asked why, to which he replied you forgot to put your seatbelt on!

Who would be your ideal fantasy passenger and where would you go?

Scarlett Johansson and I'd take her to multiple destinations.

What is your dream car?

A black convertible Pontiac Firebird. Now that is a cool car.

How would you describe your driving style?

I definitely drive too fast, but I think I'm pretty safe. These days most of the time I have kids in the back so I am getting more careful in my old age.

Tell me one driving anecdote from your past?

Back in 1998 I was driving a beaten up old band wagon in Los Angeles with a bunch of hairy, leery drunken musicians hanging out of various windows. They were ogling the scantily clad Californian girls on Sunset strip. What they weren't anticipating was my sudden left turn onto Fairfax Avenue, which I took rather quickly and unexpectedly. Our bass player flew out of the passenger window and landed in the middle of the intersection of Sunset and Fairfax. He bounced and managed to get himself back to the van a little bruised and scraped, but otherwise fine.

What are you listening to?

The kids are obsessed with three albums at the moment and believe me, as parents, you never get your choice of music in the car! Luckily they have good taste. The Beatles, Sergeant Pepper, a fantastic new band called Echo Smith and, of course, Taylor Swift.

What do you drive now?

A white Toyota Sienna (Previa). With a wife, three kids and a dog, that's where I am now!
