Mouse trap

MY son, who lives in London, went into his kitchen one evening. When he put the light on he saw a mouse running across the floor to hide.

He bought a humane mousetrap – a contraption that catches the mouse, but doesn’t kill it. Only it can’t get out.

He went to inspect it the next morning, but couldn’t see much.

He took the trap into the garden, gave it a shake and the mouse dropped out at his feet. It looked at him, as much as to say “thanks mister” and then scarpered.

E Deary, Coundon.
