YESTERDAY’S Northern Echo reported that the Darlington players have not been paid for the last three months.

This begs the question as to where all the gate receipts have gone.

In particular the estimated £100,000-plus from the last two gates.

Was all the fund-raising a waste of time?

Please don’t tell me that it has all gone to the administrator to cover his costs.

I really thought that the players would have had at least one payment from it.

The fans have done their bit by turning up for the games and throwing cash into a bucket, surely we can give the players something?
