THE landscape hewn out by the relentless furrow, followed by the plough of time, is cruelly etched into all of our faces though it is kinder to some of us than it is to others.
Looking through Tuesday’s business news in The Northern Echo, I was struck by the photographs of your three journalists, in particular that of chief reporter, Joe Willis.

Either he continues to live a life of abstinence in every respect, or perhaps Wilde’s fiction was fact, when he wrote: “this picture will remain always young. It will never be older than this particular day.”
Derek G Atkinson, Newton Aycliffe.
• Joe is, in fact, 35 and a father to three children. Although his byline picture was taken a couple of years ago, he still retains his youthful looks.
