Ahoy me Big Toddle hearties

9:50am Thursday 18th March 2010

WE would like to say a big thank-you to all those in County Durham who took part in the Barnardo’s Big Toddle 2009.

These tremendous toddlers, along with half a million others from across the UK, took part in a sponsored walk and helped to raise more than £18,000 for local Barnardo’s early-years projects.

These projects help a variety of children, including those with physical and learning disabilities, autism and behavioural problems.

Toddlers in Durham, Consett, Spennymoor, Darlington, Stanley, Bishop Auckland, Crook and Newton Aycliffe helped to raise this fantastic amount.

Barnardo’s would love to see more of your readers registering for the 2010 Big Toddle, which is set to be the best yet as a pirate fancy dress theme has been added to the occasion.

Entrants can take part with their children at their local Big Toddle event organised by Barnardo’s in Saltwell Park, Gateshead, on June 22, or they can host their own Big Toddle with family and friends at any time and any place.

To register, and find out more, visit bigtoddle.co.uk or call 0845 270 9900.

Suzi Campbell, North-East Fundraiser, Barnardo’s.
