Debt

THE UK economy has become much weaker under Labour and the Conservatives. Both have let personal debt soar, rather than control our economy.

This gave people the impression that they were better off than they really were.

Another aspect of the US economy which the UK can do without. If the Government had run a tight ship and encouraged people to live within their means, we would not be in the state that we are now in.

I would encourage local people to vote Liberal Democrat at the forthcoming General Election – it is time for a change.

Councillor Ben Ord, Chairman, Spennymoor Liberal Democrats.

"Both have let personal debt soar"
.
God forbid people should take responsibility for their own personal finances...

yeah, was just about to say the same Chris. Surely, it's been our need for all the latest gadgets, holidays, cars etc etc that has been our downfall not the government??

Thats all we need from the Liberals, more nanny state interference. We need less government. If the feckless and stupid cannot live within their means thats tough.

Will all respects to Ben Ord he's not running in the General election, so why is he doing the job of the Lib Dem candidate?

Why not? We all comment on stuff, have our say. He doesn't need to be a candidate does he?

If you want real change vote BNP, the rest all sing from the same hymn sheet.

I wonder if a letter from me encouraging people to vote for the British National Party would be printed in HAS. Might give it a go but I wont be holding my breath.

Hi Mel, you wrote:-

People, at first, wrote Hitler off as a funny little man and look what happened there!.
Adam is right though, if people want real change and vote for the BNP then we'll have no more free elections or free speach (they'll be banned!) and we'll know just what it was exactly like living in Germany under Hitler or Russia under Stalin.

You and Mel want to remember that labour has done more in the last 12 years to erodes civil liberties and freedoms than any other government since 1914. Its the labour and trade union funded UAF who are trying to use FORCE & Violence to get the BNP banned, Its you lovely lefties who used Anti terror laws against an 79 yr old at the Labour party conference for spraking out againt Blair. Its the degenerates of Nu Labour who have made the UK the most spied on country in the world , with the UK having more CCTVs than any other nation. Its your Labour party that wanted to lock people up WITHOUT charge or representation for up to 90 days, Incase they may be enemies of the state. Its your beloved labour party that has added over 200 new offences to the statutes, You can now go to prison for putting your bin out on the wrong day. In this country that Labour has fouled they now send pensioners of 90 years to prison for not paying their council tax.

And you two DARE to condemn another party as being repressive. Such hypocracy, but unsuprising.

Steve, how on earth is it hypocrisy when I have never, ever stated that I support Labour??
Fool

... and if you think Labour is a party for the "lovely lefties" then perhaps you need to do your homework on politics ...
