READING your article about alcohol being confiscated from underage drinkers across Darlington (Echo, some editions, March 12), my attention was instantly drawn to the accompanying photo of the collected products.
All these bottles and cans are packaged for supermarkets and off-licences, but it will be the pubs and clubs that will get hit once again in the Budget later this month, the excuse being binge and underage drinking.
It’s about time the supervised drinking houses were supported by the Government – and not used for easy revenue.
