Arriva services

11:13am Monday 15th March 2010

I REALLY wish I could see into the minds of Arriva management just to see what they are trying to achieve. They have a total disregard for the travelling public and even less for the men they employ.

Since the closure of the Bishop Auckland and Peterlee depots there has been absolute mayhem, service 56 being the worst for lateness, non-appearance and going the wrong way.

Why? Simply because the poor chaps from Peterlee have been thrown in at the deep end and, bless them, they have no idea where they are. Passengers are directing them as only occasionally do they have someone with them to help them.

Service 69 is a close second now being manned from Stockton.

Service 7 and 7a early morning to Durham is the same. A neighbour pays £83 for her son to go to college, and three times in one week recently he has had to stand at the front of the bus to direct the driver. Why could they not let the drivers keep to the areas they know?

I’ve tried for nearly a year for a more reliable service, but no one listens. I’ll keep trying, but it’s like flogging a dead horse.

Mrs Eva Stainsby, Ferryhill, Co Durham.
