LIKE Christopher Wardell (HAS, Feb 6) I, too, was interested to read Will Roberts’ article about the nuisance pheasant in Newsham, North Yorkshire (Echo, Feb 3).

Mr Wardell’s last resort was to hire a marksman to shoot and tranquilise the pest.

I may be of assistance to the cause as I have a good friend in that very business.

Unfortunately, he is not available until August 2011 as he is on holiday in a very large hotel in the lovely city of Durham.
