Hospital parking pain

ON Tuesday, February 2, I had to go to Darlington Memorial Hospital for an operation at 10am. My friend and I got there at 9.40am. We then spent the next 20 minutes trying to find a parking space.

The tailback on the entry to the hospital was at least 20 cars long. We eventually found a space that was reserved for other patients, which only added to the trauma of the impending operation.

This procedure could have been carried out at Bishop Auckland General Hospital, but – as usual – the powers-that-be know better.

If we can no longer use this £67m facility at Bishop Auckland as a hospital, could the same powers-that-be build a multi-storey car park at Darlington Memorial Hospital?

Let’s face it, they make a fortune out of these places in parking fees, so it would pay for itself in no time.

Can we not rid ourselves of the incompetents who now run our local health services, they have caused more anguish for local people than any other group of people anywhere in the country and this New Labour government does nothing but support them against the wishes of the people who vote for them.
Anyone who has an appointment at the Memorial would be well advised to use the ambulance pick-up service as this will deliver them to the Memorial and pick them up for transporting back to their homes and will also increase the work load on the service, which, hopefully will encourage the ambulance service to help get the incompetents who are running the Memorial to do something about the services it provides.

My wife is a district nurse based at the local hospital, she is in an out all day in her car visiting patients, she can waste up to 3 hours out of an 8 hour days on a bad day trying to get parked when she comes and goes from the hospital.

Is this person for real? The lady arrives 20 minutes before the scheduled time for an operation (presumably an important one)?? Some people are the archtitects of their own misfortune.

I hardly think that she would be operated on at 10am!! She was probably asked to check in at 10am, so arriving at 9.40 shouldnt have been an issue.
