PERHAPS, before standing down as MP for Darlington at the next General Election, Alan Milburn might consider attending a public meeting so that he can explain to his electorate why, according to the ironically named website – they workforyou.com – he has participated in only one debate in the entire parliamentary year and voted in only 58 per cent of parliamentary votes.

Presumably the fact that he has had a number of corporate directorships to attend to is mere coincidence.
