BBC expenses

HAS there ever been a time when a variety of scandals offered contributors to Hear All Sides such an opportunity to declare their outrage?

First the MPs’ expenses; now the totally unacceptable BBC executive salary and expenses fiasco.

I say totally unacceptable, but who is going to do anything about it?

These people are adept at keeping their heads down until things blow over. The BBC totally funded by the taxpayer, must be brought to heel and an independent body set up to decide on salaries and expenses.

This is well within the remit of the Government.

Months ago, I obtained, via the Freedom of Information Act, all the information regarding executive salaries at the BBC so it was no surprise to me to read about the latest revelations.

Finally, on BBC Teletext I saw the most fatuous headline ever: “The world mourns for Michael Jackson”. You couldn’t make it up.

"This is well within the remit of the Government."

Do I finally detect a hint of criticism aimed at Labour from Hugh? Surely not!!

Who cares about BBC expenses. What outrages me is the fact that the likes of Jonathan Ross is paid a retainer of 12 million quid. People are sent to prison for not paying the licence fee and this ignorant moron gets 12 mill? now thats obscene. Or do you disagree?
