YOU reported the sentencing of three rogue traders who were targeting “park home” residents, most of whom were elderly people (Echo, Apr 29).

My wife and I are victims of the gang and we would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to James Mackie and the team of North Yorkshire County Council Trading Standards for their empathy, support and keeping us informed of the progress of the investigation.

Their persistence in investigating and bringing to trial these criminals and recovering our money has given us some comfort and closure.

However, we have been left with a mistrust of tradesmen after this awful experience but we will have to overcome this to employ someone to remedy the botched job that Guardian Park Homes left us with.
