I WAS always told a good soldier never looks behind. Perhaps this was the way a taxi driver I spotted recently was taught too.

On Good Friday morning, he drove into the road behind my house, got out of his cab, looked right and left, urinated, got back into his cab and drove off.

If he’d taken the time to look over his shoulder he’d have seen me watching from my window.

I rang the cab company to complain but got the distinct impression that once the phone call was ended the incident would be forgotten about.
