REGARDING Harry Clasper the 19th Century boat builder and rower. As a miner in the 1840s, probably working a 48 hour week, it seems to me unimaginable where he found the time to get out and train not to mention build world class rowing boats.
Let us have a statue of Harry on the Tyne riverside.
