THE Government is quietly consulting on the NHS mandate, a discussion about the priorities for the year ahead for healthcare provision in England.
It began the consultation at the end of October and the closing date for contributions was November 24. This has been a short period for discussion and seems to have been launched without much ambition to engage.
This was sadly a missed opportunity for a helpful debate. If it had been heralded with a commitment for wide-scale participation and engagement it could have been an opportunity for the public to contribute ideas for improving the NHS.
