PRINCE CHARLES's thoughts on climate change deserve a fair hearing. However, I think he goes too far linking climate change with the root cause of wars (Echo, Nov 23).
I agree that any land where there has been drought will not be habitable and its occupants will move somewhere else. Many inhabitants of California moved there from parts of North America on account of drought.
With Prince Charles, out of deference some may think he probably knows best, but many people fear his outspoken views mean he could find it impossible to fulfil the role of constitutional monarch.
I am sure Queen Elisabeth has many private opinions but she has not departed from what is expected of her in the present constitutional set up.
Climate changes and we cannot ignore the evidence produced by the scientific community that it is brought about by excessive use of fossil fuels.
G Bulmer, Billingham.
