MIDDLESBROUGH Football Club under the management of Aitor Karanka are making headlines for all the right reasons this year.

The club are playing determined and attack-minded football and are firm contenders for promotion. Every time I arrive at the Riverside Stadium this season I am confident that the team will play with passion and a zeal to win matches and progress.

There have been headlines about the upset players have felt when they have missed selection. Stewart Downing, Albert Adomah and others have caused headaches to the manager when they’ve been rested and not selected. Their disappointment of missing out and their desire to play is a sign of their drive for success. It’s good to hear that players are wanting to play every match and are desperate to make an impact.
