AT last Sepp Blatter and Michelle Platini have been suspended (Echo, Oct 9).

To me, they represent all that is rotten in world football. It would be a travesty if they ever returned.

I would like to see the same thing happen in Brussels.

The EU is much larger, even more corrupt and affects more people.

FINALLY, all the top dogs at FIFA have been suspended. Why it’s taken so long is the baffling thing.

Corruption appears to have been going on for years, particularly over which countries are awarded the World Cup.

In a sport with so much money floating around corruption is always to the forefront. I learnt when I started work in the construction industry in the 70’s that if a company was bidding for a contract in any Middle Eastern country that offering a free lunch didn’t do anything. You went with a suitcase full of money to start the bidding.

Gary Lineker’s comment were spot on - it’s time to clear everyone out, wipe the slate clean and start all over again.
