PARKING DISPUTE: Sports Direct car park, in Darlington
I RECENTLY visited Sports Direct in Darlington (HAS, Aug 3 and Aug 25). I drove into the car park and displayed my Blue Badge.
Some days later, I received a parking notice from Smart Parking for £45. I appealed the notice claiming I had displayed my badge correctly. I received a letter turning my appeal down, saying that because it was a private car park, disabled blue badges and regional concessions are not valid.
I would like to make all blue badge holders aware of this in order that they also do not receive a parking charge notice.
