WHEN will our farcical judicial system realise that giving someone a ten year custodial sentence in 2009 for killing two innocent people should mean ten years not months (Echo, July 29)?

If Anthony Whittaker had still been behind bars he would not have been able to lead police on another merry chase behind the wheel of a stolen car.

A sentence of ten months for this lunatic who nearly killed again is deemed sufficient by the judge. I think not.

The defending solicitor and the judge should be made to share a cell with him.
