WELL, the summer holidays are here once again and walking my dog on the field behind the leisure centre yesterday I discovered a neat pile of rubbish near the goal post consisting of several drink bottles, sweet papers and a dirty white sock. I put them in the bin about 20 metres away.
Today I found more items of rubbish mostly near two goalposts.
Wouldn’t it be lovely if the field was left over the next six weeks and no one cleared the rubbish deposited by the people who enjoy this free leisure facility but don’t want to take care of it?
Imagine the state of the place.
Families, grandparents and parents who read this please talk to your children about littering and the fact it is a crime.
Litter louts only spoil it for themselves.
Please start being the people who take your rubbish away with you.
It’s easy – you brought it, just bag up the litter and find a bin on the way home.
