AS ever, I enjoy reading Echo Weekend memories. An article headed “A lost crossing” (Echo, June 27) reminded me of the lost railway bridge which was never used and has been left to nature.
The proposed Stockton and Darlington railway route from Albert Hill junction to Oak Tree junction East, Darlington, was never adopted.
The bridge built on the proposed route can be viewed in the valley adjoining the car park at the Old Farmhouse Inn off the A67 Darlington to Yarm Road.
