THE popular television show Pointless was first screened on BBC 2 in August 2009. Prsented by Alexander Armstrong and question-master Richard Osman, It was conceived as a game show equivalent of Trivial Pursuit which rewarded contestants' obscure knowledge and punished popular answers.

I have always been a huge fan of the show because it tests the all-round knowledge of the contestants.

However, more recently I have come to the conclusion that the series is quickly becoming the Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman chat show.

Their incessant cross talk is beginning to monopolise the show and is endangering its popularity.

They should be reminded that the stars of the show are supposed to be the contestants and not the presenters.
