SINCE when have petty minded people been allowed to dictate to councils regarding other people keeping animals, especially cockerels, on their allotments?

Cockerels have been a fixture on the allotments in Cockerton since 1950 - long before these people moved in.

We kept hens and cockerels in the gardens and there were never any complaints.

How selfish and childish are these people - demanding the allotment-holders should kill off their birds just to satisfy their whims.

It's a pity they have nothing better to do.

The council should stand up to them.
