THE political left is normally too dim to produce any coherent arguments against the so called “far right”, thus it resorts to insults, repeating the words Nazi, hate, fascist, racist, bigot etc like demented parrots. The article by Philip Buckingham (Echo, Mar 24) is a classic example of this insult-strewn nonsense by lefties.
To make their nonsense look more scientific, the words Nazi, fascist etc are normally preceded by the word “neo”. In fact, the Philip Buckingham uses the prefix “neo” several times.
What’s bizarre about neo-Nazi, neo-fascist, neo-racist, neo anything else you care to mention people, like the neo Philip Buckingham, is that Islam (sorry: neo-Islam) is about ten miles to the right of the BNP (sorry: neo-BNP). In short lefties are quite happy with the far right (sorry: neo-far right) as long as the relevant perpetrators have brown faces.
But hang on: that’s racism (sorry neo-racism), which is exactly what lefties (sorry: neo-lefties) claim to oppose. You’ve got to laugh.
Ralph Musgrave, Durham.
