I ENJOYED reading Chris Lloyd's article about the solar eclipse (Echo, Mar 20).

For those who do not know, a solar eclipse is when the moon passes the sun and it blocks out the sunlight but there are many people out there, including myself, who believe that it could actually be a giant alien mothership that passes the sun to change its location in space.

Some folks might call us insane for even having such ideas, but whatever you think causes a solar eclipse, it's certainly a fascinating phenomenon that always creates interest both with the public and media.

I applaud all the keen British stargazers who travelled to the Faroe Islands to observe the eclipse in all its glory, whether they be an observational astronomer and or someone like myself, awaiting contact from beings from another star system.
