IT was no great prophecy, but it was foretold that after the last election, those who defended the Labour legacy of ruin would blame the incoming “Tory” government for the hardship that was necessary to fix it. They duly did.

Editorials of their favoured left-leaning “newspapers” have been submitted to Hear All Sides as their own informed opinion, often with the emotive sentiment of the contributor who says he has lived through the hardship of “Thatcher”.

I applaud anyone who has an ideology based on their family tree, but please question who and what you are voting for.

I have gone full circle from a defender of “Thatcher” (as I always will), to Ukip, (I never will), to a grown up thought. I now think that I do not have to elect a Prime Minister, but I really do need to vote for a local MP who will take up any issues beyond the HAS page.

Therefore, in Darlington, Jenny Chapman will have my cross.

When I stopped being angry and blaming everyone for the fall of the Labour Party, I realised that people like Jenny Chapman were not being whipped by Tony Blair and his ilk.

Vote local on integrity, then tell her how you want it to be.

Des More, Darlington.
