I WAS deeply moved and greatly appreciated your sub-title below The Northern Echo’s masthead on Thursday, January 8, and your editorial advocating freedom of speech and the press.
Your expression of solidarity with our European cousins will, I hope, not go unnoticed throughout our region (especially after the success of the Tour de France). As the grand-daughter of a journalist, I am full of admiration for your appreciation of the significance of the appalling events in Paris.
