I WAS saddened and angered at the news of the wheelchair user losing his case to force bus companies to move passengers out of the disabled bays on their vehicles (Echo, Dec 8).

Why are wheelchair users treated like second class citizens in this country?

People with pushchairs have no respect for anyone. It is time the bus companies banned them on buses.

Shops are no better. Not enough have disabled access.

Why did the rules change? Once there was a time when wheelchair users had priority on transport and pushchairs weren’t allowed in any shop.

Let’s go back to then and give disabled people back the dignity and independence they deserve.
