THE Labour Party has resorted to trying to out-Ukip Ukip.

Yvette Cooper’s announcement of a Labour “promise” to crack down on immigration is, frankly, desperate.

It was Labour which opened the door to the whole of Eastern Europe, by its own admission.

As Peter Mandelson said: “We were sending out search parties for people and encouraging them, in some cases, to take up work in this country.”

Only Ukip can champion better border controls and fairer immigration rules for everyone and only Ukip is trusted on this political battlefield.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but no-one believes you Ms Cooper.

That is why Ukip got more than 4.5million votes in the European Elections and will take a huge share of the vote in next year’s General Election and change British politics for the better.

IS Nigel Farage a man of the people?

He might like being photographed with a pint in his hand but this man is very, very wealthy.

He was educated at Dulwich College, a private school in London. He then worked in the city, the source of a lot of our current problems, and then snaffled around £2 million in expenses as an MEP between 1999 and 2009.

Mr Farage said Enoch Powell was "extraordinary" and said that he admired his "guts". This is the same Enoch Powell who unleashed a storm of racism with his 1968 anti-immigration "rivers of blood" speech. Ukip are a nasty party and they are going to get nastier J Hall, Sunderland.
