I WAS sorry to read the sad news that Lynda Bellingham,on of our most under-rated actresses of the past 30 years, has passed away at the age of 66 years.
Best remembered in Oxo adverts alongside her screen husband, played by Michael Redfern, Lynda appeared in a glittering array of TV shows and movies.
Her curriculum vitae on TV included The Sweeney, The Professionals, All Creatures Great and Small, The Bill,General Hospital,Martin Chuzzlewit and, most recently, Loose Women.
She also played a high class call girl in the movie version of The Sweeney. The scene where she is murdered by a callous hitman is a great piece of acting.
I will remember her lovely smile and her beautiful looks.
Her bravery in the face of a terrible disease like cancer makes her an example to us all.
I shall miss her very much.
