I WAS interested to read the article regarding fly tipping and Durham County Council (DCC) requesting anyone with information to contact them (Echo, Sept 14).
On coming to work on Monday morning, September 8, I found a fridge had been dumped to the rear of our property.
Our security cameras had recorded a man driving up in a white Transit van, dumping the fridge and then driving off.
I paused it until I contacted DCC as his face/number plate was clear on the recording.
The gentleman I spoke to was not interested in having these details even though 100 yards away from our property there is a sign stating ‘fly tipping in this area is a problem, if you see anything report it on this number’ it was the same number I had called.
Yet another example of the council’s ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude. The fridge was removed Tuesday but I heard nothing from DCC.
Name and address supplied.
