ACTOR and director Richard Attenborough, who has died at the age of 90 (Echo, Aug 25), has rightly been praised for his film work.

However, I fondly remember him as a presenter of popular music on BBC radio. He told his listeners that he adored music of all kinds.

I remember him playing Gershwin’s “Our Love is Here to Stay” and Ella Fitzgerald singing “Every Time We Say Goodbye.”

He had great taste.

LD Wilson, Guisborough.
