THIS week I received a leaflet from Saga offering car insurance from as low as £176.
The quote I received was far in excess of this figure.
I cited my 60-year accident free record and quoted the leaflet’s figure asking why my quote was not nearer the advertised amount. The operator stated that the figure quoted was for advertising purposes only, although the leaflet clearly states: “Fifty-one per cent of customers paid this.”
This type of targeting elderly customers is practised by the big three ‘oldies’ insurance brokers.
If this kind of misrepresentation is not against the law, why not?
