THE Tory party abolished apprenticeships in this country and that is why today we are still short of skilled people.
The next thing we could be short of is professional people because of the £9,000 university tuition fees, but the Government says if one does not earn £20,000 a year they will not have to pay it back.
Does the Government not know that some people come into this country, receive £20,000 a year and never work one day.
We have young people today waiting by the phone for a call to say if they can go to work and after one hour at work they are no longer needed.
This government has made it impossible for some students to be able to go to university because of the cost. Students who go to university for seven years will owe £100,000.
How can it be fair that in Scotland the students go free to university, in Wales they pay just over £3,000 but in England they pay £9,000?
G Hall, Crook.
