SCHOOLS in Darlington have yellow zigzag lines and No Stopping signs on the school side of the road.
Most of the time many of the parents ignore the zigzags and safely drop the kids off on the school side of the road, except when civil parking enforcement wardens are present.
Parents who respect the zigzags park on the opposite side of the road.
This means that the parents and kids have to cross a busy stream of school traffic to get into school.
Some of the parents and kids ignore the traffic and just run across the road.
It would appear that respecting these yellow zigzags is not really a good idea for child safety.
