RECENTLY, the BBC hosted a discussion on the best way to make an apology.
Many famous people were shown who had made some great mistake and the BBC had broadcast their apologies.
I think that the classic apology was given by King David, who had committed adultery with Bathsheba and made sure her husband would be killed.
When he was rumbled by Nathan the prophet, King David went to the temple and got down on his knees to ask forgiveness from God.
He said to God: “Only against You have I sinned”.
So, before we go chortling over someone else who has been rumbled, let us not forget that we are all sinners, including me.
However, God is gracious and forgives us when we truly repent and are sorry. This is why God sent His only begotten Son to save sinners like me and you.
