AFTER reading Aled Jones’ letter (HAS, Nov 27) regarding the transportation of animals in the most cruel and appalling conditions, I am in total agreement with him.
Obviously these poor animals will be heading for the abattoir but we make them suffer before they end up on someone’s Christmas menu.
Isn’t it also a coincidence how in the weeks leading up to Christmas the sale of puppies and other pets are plentiful in the pets column? Are these poor animals made to have litter after litter just for Christmas greed?
I despair at it all. You often read of people abandoning their old dog to replace it with a cuddly puppy that no doubt someone has given them as a present.
So, yes, Mr Jones, as you wrote: Great Britain should be a land of hope and glory for every part of God’s creation.
