THIS year saw the tenth annual charity three-day vintage tractor run.
Organised by a group of vintage tractor enthusiasts from Richmond and surrounding areas, all the proceeds go to charities, with Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Yorkshire Cancer Research each benefiting from £528.81 this year.
Starting in Richmond, Friday’s route included a two-hour visit to the Metcalfe Farms complex at Leyburn, lunch at the Wyville Arms in Constable Burton, before the tractors travelled across to Ripon for a visit to Ripon Farm Services.
An overnight stay in Ripon was followed by a run up Nidderdale with lunch at Loftus, then across to Masham, ending with a tour round Theakstons Brewery.
The next day the tractors travelled back towards Richmond with a visit to Jervaulx Abbey, and lunch at The Cover Bridge Inn.
The club would like to thank all the landowners for permission to cross their land and to everybody who supported the event.
The organisers have already set a date for 2017. Carl Tennant and Andy Turnbull have a three-day route planned for June 23-25.
