Really looking forward to helping to host the Wow Awards for Durham Constabulary, Britain's highest-rated police force, in the morning (Monday).
My job is to interview four inspirational people on stage:
- Lyndon Longhorne, who became a champion swimmer despite huge disabilities caused by meningitis,
- Gary Lynch, a former homeless drug addict who rebuilt his life and now works for the police supporting other vulnerable people;
- Pat Gibson, who changed the law when her son was fatally injured in an unprovoked attack;
- And Hannah Beard, who overcame a traumatic childhood and is now a role model as a police cadet.
Wow! Four very special examples of the kind of positivity and courage that are watchwords at Durham Police. It will be a privilege to talk to them about their lives.
