The Northern Echo:

Now that Fidgety Bridget Wrigglesworth - my third book in the Monstrous Morals series - is in the shops, number four is about to be sent to the printers.

Nose-Picker Nicholas Pickering tells the tale about a little boy who can't stop picking his nose and ends up inside his own hooter where he has a terrifying encounter with The Bogeyman.

However, I have a genuine question: Is the front cover too graphic? There's no way of putting this delicately - is there too much snot, or am I being too picky?

I'd appreciate any views - let me know either on Twitter @echopeterbarron or email peter.barron@nne.co.uk. The book is due to be published in the summer.

In the meantime, I'll be signing copies of Fidgety Bridget Wrigglesworth at Waterstone's in Darlington on Saturday May 17 between 12 and 2pm. Bridget's a little girl who can't stop fidgeting and is told she has ants in her pants. She ends up working as a slave in an anthill and I'm keen to have one of those transparent ant farms at the book signing as an added attraction for kids. If anyone has one I can borrow for the day, it would be f-ant-astic.
