A TEENAGER touched by the plight of five-year-old Bradley Lowery is organising a charity bike ride in his honour.

The County Durham youngster’s battle with the rare cancer neuroblastoma has touched hearts across the world and inspired a series of fundraising events.

Ryan Reed from Darlington has now arranged a cycle ride in a bid to raise money to help Bradley and his family, who are from Blackhall Colliery.

The 16-year-old Wyvern Academy pupil will be joined by at least 30 fellow students for the event, taking place on Saturday, January 28.

He is encouraging members of the public to line the route and make donations, which will be given to the Lowery family to fund life-improving trips.

Ryan said: “I read Bradley’s story online and I wanted to try and help him have a fun life.

“I’ll have donation buckets at the bird cages in South Park from 11am and would like to raise more than £100.”

The ride will begin at 10.30am at the Darlington town centre clock tower and will travel from there to South Park.
